Claremont Road
Riders of all ages whizzed through the streets of Surbiton this weekend for the borough’s annual cycling festival.
The Trycyclingathon, organised by the Seething Wells community group, invited residents to take part in three different rides from Claremont Gardens on Sunday, in an effort to get more people on their bikes. The highlight of the three rides proved the final Vintage cycle, during which riders donned colourful costumes and one resident even brought along his penny-farthing.
Voting is now open for Seething Wells to win £25,000 in the first ever Britain Has Spirit awards, with the group competing against nine others from across the UK for the prize. Seething Wells was put forward for the national gong after winning the regional final this summer, for which the group won £1,000 for a street party.
