Drug-fuelled woman headbutted and punched strangers in unprovoked attack

A woman followed strangers off a train and headbutted and punched them while on drugs.

Jennifer Lewis, 25, attacked her victims at Surbiton station on May 1 last year in a completely unprovoked attack.

She denied attacking the woman but was found guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on February 20. But she had admitted attacking the man. Ms Lewis, who lives in Canada Road, Cobham, was sentenced to prison for 26 weeks but the prison sentence was suspended for 24 months,. She will be jailed if she commits any more crimes. She was also told to go on a day-long thinking skills programme by magistrates at Wimbledon last Friday and ordered to pay compensation of £688, which will be taken out of her benefits. The Thinking Skills Programme is a "group programme which will develop your thinking skills to help you stay out of trouble" according to probation services.

Ms Lewis avoided paying court costs or a contribution to the national victim surcharge fund as she was deemed to be of limited means. She had also pleaded guilty to failing to turn up at court after being released on bail.
