97% of children in the borough have been offered one of their preferred primary schools, with 95% of these getting one of the top three preferences in their application compared to 92% in 2016.
There are 1,930 pupils who have applied for a primary school place to start in September 2017, compared to 2,005 in 2016. This year, a total of 90 additional places have been added, 30 at each of the following schools: Christ Church C of E Primary in Surbiton, St Luke’s and Coombe Hill Infant School in Kingston.
Every year in April, councils across the country announce their primary school places. According to London Council figures, 98,944 pupils in the Capital applied for primary school places through the pan London admissions scheme. 85.95% of pupils received an offer from their first choice, with 95.72% getting a place at one of their top three schools.
