Year 11 pupils nervously awaited their GCSE results this morning. Leading up to results day, Ofqual had predicted increased "volatility" in grades due to government syllabus shake-ups.
Tolworth Girls' School has sent in its results, showing steady improvement.
Its proportion of A* grades has risen from six to 7.2 per cent, with A and B grades also rising. High-flyers included Rebecca Corbett, who achieved a staggering 11 A* grades and an A.
Southborough High School has achieved 63 per cent A*-C grades, which headteacher Niall Smith said were the school's best ever.
Surbiton High School has reported a 1.6-percentage point increase in top A and A* grades this year.
