London Fire Brigade Four fire crews were called after smoke was seen billowing from a house off Tolworth roundabout.
Surbiton firefighters said they were called to a home in Tolworth Rise North, near the A3 roundabout, at about 7.30pm on Saturday. A first-floor bedroom was destroyed by fire and the rest of the upper floor was smoke damaged.
The fire which badly damaged a home in Hook Rise North is believed to have been caused by a hair-dryer that was left on.
No one was injured in the blaze. Crews from New Malden, Kingston, Esher and Surbiton responded to the call.
