Six men and a woman have been arrested after a series of dawn raids on homes and market stalls across west London, as police targeted an "organised criminal network".
The criminal network is believed to be involved in stealing property and handling stolen goods. Two of those arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft, both 31-year-old men, were arrested after warrants were executed at houses in Hamilton Avenue, Surbiton, and Waldergrave Road, Teddington.
Police confirmed that the home in Surbiton was found to have mobile phones and other computer equipment which had previously been reported as stolen. Eleven warrants were executed in total, including three in Hammersmith, two in Shepherds Bush, two in Notting Hill, one in North Kensington and one in Northolt. Police recovered suspected stolen phones and laptops, as well as shotgun cartridges.
Three other men, onefrom Hammersmith and two from Notting Hill, have also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft. A man and a woman, both from Hammersmith, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.
