Police say two alleged abductions at schools are unlikely to be linked.
Kingston police had believed that incidents at Knollmead Primary School, Tolworth, and Grand Avenue Primary School, Surbiton, may be connected. A boy was allegedly grabbed by a man with a woolly hat at Knollmead Primary School on Monday, May 21, at about 9.10am.
The man was accompanied by a slim white woman, with long black hair in a red hooded top and trousers. In an incident five days earlier at Grand Avenue Primary School, Surbiton, on Thursday, May 17, a man and woman are alleged to have approached a girl getting water from a fountain.
But this morning poice said the descriptions of suspects do not match. Officers still want to speak to anyone who saw or comforted the distressed boy at Knollmead Primary School.
Police are still investigating a third incident in which a man in a woolly hat on a bicycle was seen acting suspiciously outside a Worcester Park school at about 3.10pm on Monday, May 21.
The force said that the children and schools in all three incidents had followed the correct procedures in reporting the incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call Kingston police on 07917 271 552 asking for Operation Orchid. Or they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
