Two men have been jailed after police seized £63,000-worth of cannabis from a house in Surbiton.
Police discovered more than 300 cannabis plants when they raided the house in Alexandra Drive, Berrylands, in September after neighbours told police they believed the drug was being cultivated inside. Duc Nguyen, 41, and Tuan Min Dang, 52, both of no fixed address, were found inside the house and arrested, Kingston police said.
Both admitted growing the cannabis at Kingston Crown Court on Monday, January 18. Dang was sentenced to 12 months in prison, and Nguyen was jailed for 58 weeks. They were ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100 each. Police had also discovered a tunnel leading to exposed electrical cables coming from a main power grid outside.
