The owner of two dogs that savaged a family pet in Berrylands has agreed to a stringent set of conditions designed to keep others safe.
Claudia Arias, 42, of Malden Way, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday this week. While not the subject of criminal action she agreed with police that her two dogs, Samson and Honey, should be muzzled while out in public.
The conditions also mean only an adult can walk the two Staffordshire bull-terrier crosses – using a lead no longer than 1.5m – and that if they are sold or given away the police must be notified.
A man who intervened in the vicious attack, at about 9am on Thursday, January 29, told the Surrey Comet at the time that he had nightmares about the experience. Liam Blair, 24, of Tolworth, saved a second bichon frise and put one of the terriers in a headlock.
