Pensioners under siege

Teenage arson attack on sheltered accomodation.

Rampaging youths have left a group of King Charles' Road pensioners afraid to leave their flats after terrorising them over a fortnight.

A spokesman for Kingston police said: "Berrylands safer neighbourhood team is aware of the recent arsons and is concerned with catching those responsible as soon as possible.

"It has done some leaflet drops warning residents of the arsons and asking people living in the blocks to take preventative action in the form of moving mats and other items inside their homes.

"It is also doing reassurance patrols as much as it can to remain visible and it has spoken to residents to gather information - although, to date, no one has been able to assist it with suspects."

This just shows how poor the policing is in the area - try ringing them and reporting and incident and they usually don't even turn up! Also they only patrol in the day - they are needed at night!!

I've spotted the Berrylands neighbourhood team out patrolling on a Sunday morning loads of times now.
Surely somebody must realise that Berrylands on a Sunday morning has just about the lowest crime probability of any area in London - why not reschedule these patrols to a Friday / Satruday night?
