Surbiton Farmers’ Market will end a successful year with a special Christmas market on Saturday December 18.
Visitors can stock up on seasonal produce in time for Christmas while helping to support local charities and good causes. This month, the market will donate £473 from its surplus proceeds towards the costs of St Andrew's and St Mark’s Church Christmas Day lunch at Surbiton YMCA.
The Christmas market will have more than 25 stalls of wonderful fresh produce, speciality foods and gifts. Stallholders will be selling poultry, game, seasonal vegetables, fish, fresh pasta and cheeses, along with homemade cakes, patisseries and breads.
Christmas trees, plants and floral decorations will also be on sale. And for last-minute foodie presents, choices include olive oil, preserves, confectionery, teas, ales and the Surbiton Farmers’ Market 2011 Calendar.
Maple Road businesses will serve mulled wine and special breakfast and lunch menus. Children can visit Santa’s Grotto in the Rubicon bar and local charity Yorda Adventures will provide festive face-painting. Don’t miss the carol singers from St Andrew’s Church Choir who will perform at 12 noon.
Joining the December market will be The Causeway Centre for adults with learning disabilities, who will be selling gifts made at the Stud Nursery in Home Park. Conservation group Surrey Wildlife Trust completes the line-up for this month.
The Farmers’ Market takes a break in January and will then run on the third Saturday of each month throughout 2011, starting on Saturday February 19.
