Pupils at a Surbiton school were treated to a visit from gold-medallist and paralympic swimmer Hannah Russell MBE.
Year 7 and 8 boys at Shrewsbury House School learnt about the challenges Ms Russell, who is visually-impaired, has had to face in pool and the types of training she has to undergo. She explained to the boys that in her daily routine as a full-time athlete she will be training for six to seven hours a day. Ms Russell also shed light on her daily challenges, including catching the correct bus to go training or meeting new people or speaking to an audience.
