Officer were called to Portsmouth Road at about 2.36pm today to reports of a woman being hit.
London Ambulance Service also attended and took the woman, aged in her 20s, to a south London hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
One lane was closed while officers attended to the crash. No arrests have been made.

People tear around surbiton and it would be fantastic to see the 20 mph limit discussion crystalize into reality everywhere. But of course, without a police presence, people will continue to treat any speed limit as a purely notional and largely abstract concept.
I agree. In this individual case, it appears that the pedestrian was very drunk, but there are many incidents that happen that are directly related to speeding.
There is no need to travel at over 20mph through built up areas, so a blanket 20mph limit, properly enforced, would be a great benefit to everyone.
