Keeping yobs off the streets is a BAD idea, according to Lib Dem MP Annette Brooke, because curfew orders "infringe on human rights".
Yobs wouldn't dream of reoffending, claimed Lib Dem Home Affairs spokesman Mark Oaten, if they were "looking forward to car mechanic sessions and go-karting".
Lib Dems want to go soft on one of the biggest causes of crime - DRUGS. Home Affairs spokesman Mark Oaten said: "I agree with legalising some hard drugs."
Lib Dem MP Jenny Tonge called for hard drugs to be legalised: "It may be better to sell substances like cocaine from licensed premises."
"Soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft in the head":

Not sure how the original poster is racist... but maybe he has form.

A lot of yobs are yobs because they're ignored. They act up, people ignore them, so they act up more. It's a challenge to address the root of the problem but this is the only way to a solution; brushing things under the carpet never solved anything.

Not sure exactly what the LibDems said but there's definitely a case for controlling hard drugs in a decriminalised way. In the places where heroin addicts have been prescribed their illegal drugs (in an attempt to control their addictions), drug-related crime disappeared and the dealers moved out - thus preventing new people the opportunity to try it and get hooked. Making heroin available at the Spar probably won't help matters though.

Hmm... constructive...
I grew up in Wandsworth, Labour for my formative years, then Conservatiive before I left and bought a place in Surbiton.
Old DaveRacist is using the Conservative model as the acceptable side of right wing politics. It doesnt work, in a multicutural society, which he has to ADMIT, we have, and more the better for it. Conservatisim breeds contempt. Think about it , if you can.
Well the Lib Dems won didnt they, and Labour won the national election and will win the next one under Mr Brown!
It's a very satisfying era for people like me. For years, asolutely years and years, decades even, I had to suffer as did many others snobbish selfish and uncaring conservative politicians ruling the roost both here in Surbiton, and on our Council and in also in Westminster without being able to do a thing about it at any level.
Well NOW, for the last NINE years and counting, it's been my turn and my friends turn to be part of the "establishment ruling class" and your turn to be conseidered the militant right wingers, the whingers and windbags, who want to destroy our centre wing way of life!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that'll continue for another ten years or so, and then perhaps we'll think again.
How does it feel chaps, got you all at last?!
Regards
Surbiton 2 :D
So what would you do? Have you any better ideas?
