Hundred of enthusiasts of the children's illustrated stories gathered to celebrate Surbiton's illustrator Alfred Bestall.
On January 15 1986, Alfred Bestall died after a long and literally illustrious career writing and drawing the adventures of the worlds best-known comic-strip bear.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his Surbiton life, local resident and old friend of Bestall Ann Fox, organised an exhibition of his work at Surbiton Hill Methodist Church.
