Wow, that's unbelievable. I'm sure everyone on this site would be fascinated to hear the explanation for such apparent rudeness.

Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for your comments/review which we take very seriously. I can assure you that this experience was an isolated case and whilst I am not offering you or your family any excuses, I would like you to know the reason behind the events of your visit to Da Lucio. I can assure you it had nothng to do with you, your family or any gratuities that may have been left that evening. I would be most grateful if you would contact me at the restaurant at your earliest convenience.
In the meantime may I please offer you and your family my sincerest apologies.
Regards Lucio@Da Lucio

We had just the worst experience...

When we come to pay..... the waitress taking payment asked "is this the tip? it's more trouble to count, than what it's worth" it turned out this was the manager...

We were dining with my wife and son (Age 8) and our friend, we were all in shock at the arrogance of this woman who tipped some of the the tip back on to the table!!!!

I then over heard her asking one of her waiters to "Get them out" as we began to discuss this amazing rudeness with our fellow shocked diners....

When we approached the manager.... she made no appology, in fact asked us to leave, my wife was then physically pushed out of the door!!! by then manager ( mid 50's, dyde blonde hair).

We have eaten many times over the years at this address under different management, as we use to live around the corner, we can not believe what has just happened...... I think maybe GREEED has taking over this area of Surbiton....

We found the whole thing very distressing, our 8 year old son was very upset at watching his Mum getting pushed out of the door as the waitress/manager greeted new guests....

The quality of the food was awful. My Spaghetti was undercooked and dripping with sauce. I sell Italian food to the public on a daily basis and therefore have some knowledge of the industry. Service was mediocre but nothing special. As for the cost, less said about that the better.

I have been going to da lucio since I moved to Surbiton 2 years ago and havent had a bad plate of pasta yet. Who do you work for? Brake bros?

Not sure this place is still as good as when it first opened, service was sloppy on my last visit and the pizza which is what they were good for is now poor. Better restaurants around.

Excellent place. Friendly service, quite a buzzy atmosphere on a Friday/Saturday night, nice food and great prices.

Right in the nicest part of Surbiton to go out for an evening as well, so there are several nice pubs and bars to go to for a drink before or afterwards.

really, really good, simple Italian food pulled off with class in lovely friendly surroundings. Very reasonably priced too.
