I am a little confused by a number of these comments, but do note some are very old. So here is my honest view from someone who until a few months ago, hated and I mean really feared dentists, following some bad childhood experiences.
I was fortunate enough to join as an NHS patient as my wife and children already were - I hadnt been to a dentist for 17 years as per the above reason. I met Prya (I think?) for an initial assessment and was immeediately put at ease. I had some problems with a broken wisdom tooth and new that it was likely to need to be removed. Prya recommended I needed 2 fillings and 2 replacements as well as the wisdom tooth removed - which was referred to Kingston Hospital.
At no time did I feel I was getting the wrong treatment - 17 years of no dentists, I was expecting a large amount of work and bill to match even on the NHS, but I didnt. The work was done and whilst I did have to return to fix one of the fillings that became a bit loose I have been really pleased with their professionalism and putting me at ease. Whilst going to the dentist is still not top of favourite things to do I am much more comfortable going.
With regards to the comments regarding the receptionist I have always found her accommodating and pleasant, albeit not the smiliest of people.
I went to see this dentist as an emergency- gfantastic team, really helpful and felt fully reassured by the dentist I saw. I have even registered to stay with the practise- as an nhs patient.
Went to see NY Dental office as my old dentist decided to retire. Very clean and nice looking place, but I was told I needed several fillings and a root canal. I was told the root canal could not be done on the NHS and that it would be best to do all my treatments private. Since I knew a lot of dentists try to make more money this way, I went to see another dentist who explained I only needed one filling and no root canal at all. New York dental office wanted to give me three fillings that were completely un-necessary.
Dentists should offer work on NHS not try to put everything private, the reasoning is not to be trusted either. Its all selfish greed on the part of the dentist. I was told it had to be private because it would take more than 30 minutes and working on NHS would only allow her 30 minutes to do it... such lies. My new dentist said if I did need a root canal he would be happy to do it on NHS. I have complained to the PCT who said they would investigate this. It is actually an offence to tell a patient something "cannot be done on NHS" when it can.
On one prior occasion (before I got a new dentist) I had an impacted wisdom tooth and suffered from a number of abscesses, I was told that they cannot lance it and given antibiotics and charged £17 for the privilege and my GP could have given me them without a consultation fee of £15 for 30 seconds of work
Unless you have private dental insurance, do not bother with this dentist unless you want Dr Mengele giving you unnecessary surgery!!!!
Pretty sure all the positive comments are written by the dentists themselves too.
Oh my where to start had dreadful pain asked for appointment was told there was nothing for two weeks, went else where as i could not bare the pain.... was given anti bi's for infection and dental plan privately which i just could not afford... so decided to go back to N Y and the conflicting advise given was mad.............. told had to loose the tooth there and then...... i told them i had conflicting info from else where they then changed there minds and filled with tempory filling...... which fell out the next day and told me to wait a week so they could get a second opinion on it!!!!!!!!!!!! now that was over two weeks ago........... so i have called and spoken to godzilla aka the receptionist who was dismissive rude and could not have got off the phone quick enough............................... it would seems you can keep teeth in ones head if one goes private at this practise however NHS people be warned teeth it would seem are an extravagant luxary !!!!!!!!!!!! would not recommend this surgery at all .................... and we are in the process of moving the whole family elswhere.............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot recommend them too highly. Extremely thorough and excellent treatment. The dentist tells you exactly what is happening and explains the treatment in great depth. All this and on the NHS. I am so glad I registered with them.
A very disappointing visit. I would give it zero stars.
Firstly, I was called by the receptionist 10 minutes prior to my appointment asking if I could come earlier, as if I was an inconvenience to them. This thought persisted when I arrived and the staff were clearly setting up for an event of some sort, with various projectors...etc taking up the waiting room seats. Whilst with the dentist I felt rushed and ignored, ironic since their website insists on the importance of communication from dentist to patient.
Furthermore, the filling seems to have been done shoddily as my 'bite' is now noticeably different, not to mention there is a considerable chip on my tooth.
I have always had a massive fear of dentists, i dont know why this is, but i seriously would rather go through enormous amounts of pain than set foot in a practice. So basically i had a problem with a few teeth that had got to the point of me feeling suicidal, my girlfriend recommended them and as "gay" as it sounds, came in to hold my hand. Was the most polite, reassuring dentist i could have ever wished for, would recommend them and have done infact, i paid £50 - £55 for my treatment, that was reconstruction work on 3 teeth too. The receptionist i see is a common denominator in negatvie comments above, which is a shame because it is no way a reflection of the manners and experience of the actual dentist themselves. my dentist was a lovely lady and the male dentist remembered my girlfriend and was very polite. i don't know what more could be asked of them.
Truely lovely folks. What a kind thought, I'm sure the hospice and the patients will be thrilled. It gives me faith there are some kind people in the world today.
I went to nyda2 last week and was very pleased
I am visiting London and was in a lot of pain with my wisdom tooth. I am staying with my brother in Kingston and he reccammended these guys.
What a beautiful place and the dentist went out of her way to help me. I am pleased to say I am out of pain now and they squeezed me in last minute.
Thank you guys and keep up the good work.. Antonio *****
Love the photos and thank you for the toothpicks.
Its funny how these positive comments are all made by the same person! Your bad English gives it away. Stick to running a very below average dentist surgery and for heaven sake get rid of that miserable waste of space on reception duties!)
This place is a con.. They advertise NHS and try to lure you to have private treatment!
Don't make the same mistake as me.
Went in there for a check-up and a regular filling and firstly the Receptionist was moody and rude to me when I asked how much longer I had to wait as the dentist appeared to be running 1/2 hour late.
Then I see the dentist and she starts selling me the benefits of having my root canal treatment privately. Says that it is not available on the NHS because it is a complex treatment and will take alot of time to do it to improve the success rate and quotes me £250.00.
I paid my £16.50 having wasted my time there and went to another dentist in Kingston and they charged me £45.60 for the same treatment!
And what is it with the New York theme? and the cross eyed lady in that poster at Reception??
I dont normally post on these sites but have to tell you about my experience.
I lost my teeth at a young age through illness and have had no teeth in my mouth for about 29 years.
I have never been able to eat properly because the dentures I have had made over the last 29 years have never fitted correctly. I however tried nydo2 because a friend told me about this place and how they may be able to help me. I went in with some trepidation! I went through the usual stages of the denture construction and was treated with a lot of respect by my dentist. I had to go back a few times for trials and finally received them a few weeks ago. I have to tell you that they are the best dentures I have ever had made. I am extremely grateful to the team at nydo2 for giving my smile back.

I have been to many dentists in the past but Priya was exceptional.
I had to have some difficult work done and she was wonderful and painless, and it was a pleasure rather than a nightmare to have treatment done by her!. The only thing I had a concern was that the receptionist was a little abrupt otherwise highly reccommend Priya.
I have been very nervous patient and was reccomended by my friends to see dentist here. She was very gentle and I had a load of broken teeth fixed withou sedation. They were very good although the magazines needs updating.
Worst dentist I've ever had the misfortune of going to! The place may look good, but the receptionist is rude and more interested in the tv than the people coming in. The dentist is incompetent meaning I have had to have additional work done elsewhere. Don't go there unless you want problems caused where there were none before. And don't expect a smile, decent service or any form of politeness.
I wish I could give negative 5 stars. I have never experienced worse service in my life! Neither has my husband.
was told I had an impacted wisdom tooth and it needed to be removed and I would be referred to the hospital. Two months later the referal letter still hadn't been sent. Instead of appologising the receptionist was rude to me! Finally the referral went through, and 10 months later I have finally had the tooth removed. I needed a filling too, but have gone to a different practice for this. While waiting for the referrals to go through my tooth got infected a number of times but I had to wait days for an appointment for antibiotics! The receptionist was also rude to me and my children when I had to bring them with me for one of the appointments for antibiotics - even though they were being quiet and polite.
My husband had a filling done and has had to pay to have the whole thing removed and redone at another dentist who says he is not sure the filling was necessary in the first place!
The practice may look nice but I would rather have a receptionist that did her job than one who watches tv all day and I would rather have a dentist who actually does their job too! Do not go here unless you want problems caused where there were none before.
Very poor service from the receptionist who couldn’t be bothered to the dentist and nurse who were more interested in the TV on the ceiling than in my teeth. I had to have two fillings, but afterwards my "bite" was not correct as the fillings were not done correctly. As a result it broke the tooth above the filling, which then needed fixing (at a different dentist obviously!).
Had root canal treatment done here and am in agony some 4 days later. As I understand it, this is unusual so I am left feeling really, really disappointed as I initially had a really good feeling about the dentist treating me. I am hoping the problem can be sorted asap. :-(
Aww, come on dude...if you are going to advertise your practice, don't PRETEND to be a customer ;-)
Your NHS sign in February said the offer was available until march only......flyers in the petrol station opposite.....
I'm sure u r a great dentist, but a little desperate if your marketing come to this.
Use the patients you have to create word of mouth, via facebook, twitter etc.
Posting like this just looks a bit like those lousy american tv ads where actors claim to be 'real' users of the product, and tell us how great it is..........
Good luck with the practice, looks nice.........a bit empty though ;-)
Having visited a number of different dentists over the past years, I have always dreaded the regular check ups and dental work I have needed doing. On top of this, I have never actually met a dentist with whom I could say I totally trusted him/her to do the best for my teeth! Not anymore! I have recently had to undergo some extensive work on my teeth and throughout this treatment the New York Dental staff have been nothing but professional in every way. Not only are they very informative, they also appear to generally care about their patients and are clearly willing to invest wholeheartedly in their customer care. In my opinion, they are the only ever dentists I have actually had the pleasure of visiting....and it's not very often you can say that about a dentist!
