Nice pub, but on the last 3 occasions that i went there and had 2-3 pints, i had a severe case of 'the trots'.
Perhaps the pipes need a bit more cleaning....?

I will just draw your attention to another article on this site. Yes the pub might be a little scruffy but it is one of the friendliest places I have found. Yes the Antelope has more beer and is larger, but I find it less welcoming and would certainly not just nip in there for a pint on my own. If you ask about the nic nacks in the Lamb there is a story behind every one of them and it usually has something to with charity fundraising or community spirit.

Sorry to hear that.

I love the Lamb, but I do feel that the lack of investment is a bit beyond a joke. I like the 'worn feel' and we certainly don't need any more polished pubs in Surbiton, but the Lamb serve just about the most expensive drinks in town and the toilets are disgusting...

If there are hygiene problems as well, I may have to take my £4.50 per pint elsewhere!

It is an acquired taste that has so far eluded me, which is sad because I do like scruffy pubs but there is just something that doesn't seem right about the place and now that the Antelope is accessible to normal people and has a loyalty scheme for me to enjoy I need not use the Lamb at all.
In time I hope the Antelope will acquire a more worn veneer as it get used more.

Agreed. The Antelope has got it right and is enjoying a deserved high level of trade from the outset.

The problem with the Lamb is that it is just too scruffy. There is no problem with letting a pub develop a certain 'patina' over time, but a lot of the features come from the 1970s (or the era which taste forgot) so do not deserve to be preserved.

This event is advertising the Made in Surbiton, Spring into the Lamb fair. The Lamb pub have very kindly offered their beer garden free of charge to a group of local craftspeople who will donate their pitch fees to Creative Youth after the event.
This advert should not be used as a forum to review the pub itself, feel free to review Made in Surbiton or any of our crafters. Many thanks.
