Five arrested after police man assaulted outside nightclub

Two 18-year-old men from Esher and Surbiton have been arrested following an incident outside a nightclub in Reigate.

Officers spotted a disturbance outside JJ Whispers, Reigate High Street, at about 1:30am on Friday, March 29. One police officer who attended was assaulted and attended East Surrey Hospital for treatment to abdomen injuries, but has since returned to duty.

A third 18-year-old man, from Tadworth, and two 25-year-old men, from Redhill and Reigate, were also arrested on suspicion of public order and assaulting a police officer. All five men have been released on police bail until Thursday, May 9, while the investigation continues.
