I work at one of the drinking establishments on Maple road and have to say that this kind of incident is becoming more frequent. While I would say that 99% of the people on Maple road area pleasure to serve I am dealing with at rouge 1% that drink to much and end up causing trouble.
I doubt the local bars and Pubs would see it as necessary to employ bouncers especially as the majority of trouble occurs off the premises, but i do think that a local police presence would be helpful as I have never seen a bobby on the beat or even a squad car regularly drive though the area.
Also CCTV would be a very good idea.
I agree, and it is a shame. I think the problem is that Maple Road is becoming a bit too much of a destination in it's own right rather than just being a group of establishments serving those from the surrounding area.
Every time I go out around there now there are people pouring out of taxis and the places are always crowded. There are always going to be more problems when more people are attracted to the same place. The Grove used to have bouncers in it's previous (rougher) incarnation and I think it would be a shame if we had to bring that back.
