A special karaoke assembly for a charity that grants wishes to terminally ill children took a junior school by storm.
Bianca Nicholas, a 24-year-old singer with cystic fibrosis who has sung on the X Factor, performed as a mid-morning treat for the pupils of Surbiton High School Junior Girls.
Two pupils from Long Ditton nominated Starlight Children’s Foundation to be the school's charity for one term, and gave speeches to win hands down against other charities. Phoebe and Molly Gault, 9 and 6, support the charity after sister Poppy, 13, who has an undiagnosed genetic disorder resulting in severe physical and learning disabilities, was sent on a 'wish holiday' to Florida by Starlight in May.
They raised cash through bake sales, wine tasting events and, most recently, starlight karaoke on Friday, October 10. Miss Nicholas sang Let It Go from the hit film Frozen. The £1,787.61 raised will go towards a travelling pantomime to get to all the children stuck in hospital over the Christmas period.
