A teenager has been awarded a top prize in a prestigious photographic competition for this photo of Notting Hill Carnival.
Jodie Krause, 18, from Wimbledon, was crowned a winner in the Economic and Social Research Council’s 2015 competition Changing World.
The competition asked entrants to think about how the world had changed in the past 50 years, and how it would change in the future. The challenge was to capture the essence of this change in a single photograph. Jodie’s snapshot of a woman at Notting Hill Carnival called Back to Basics was picked to win a Judge’s Choice award from amongst 1,600 entries from 270 schools. Jodie, who attends Surbiton High School in Kingston received her £100 prize at an awards ceremony earlier this month at the Menier Gallery in London.
