Organic Veg Scheme comes to Surbiton

From the Ground Up, Kingston's own community organic veg box scheme, is now in Surbiton.

Completely run by volunteers and not for profit, From the Ground Up's mission is to bring local, affordable organic food to our communities. We are now at The Lamb Pub, 73 Brighton Road on Saturday morning, bi-weekly. Our prices are by far and away less expensive than other organic food outlets and supermarkets..why?

1) We are run by volunteers, people who are committed to seeing safe affordable food available to all, not just for the few

2) We are a collection scheme - you come pick up your orders at the Lamb from 12noon to 1 on collection day - this means lower prices to you because we don't need to finance cars, drivers, petrol etc

3) We sell food at prices marginally higher than wholesale to cover our costs - we are not looking to make a profit, just to provide a service to our communities

From the Ground Up is part of Transition Town Kingston - a volunteer, community led organisation that seeks to find ways to address the challenges of climate change...such as buying food grown by earth friendly and sustainable methods.
