•Sainsbury’s has raised over £63.5 million for Comic Relief since their partnership began in 1999
Fundraising for Red Nose Day 2013 has begun and local Surbiton residents can now pick up this year’s official merchandise at Sainsbury’s Surbiton. The new merchandise range includes the first Red Nose with toes! The ‘Dinosesaurs’ Red Noses come in three dinosaur characters while other merchandise on sale in-store include pin badges, deeley boppers, wristbands, air fresheners and pin badges. Each item purchased will include at least a 50% donation to Red Nose Day.
It’s one of a number of ways in which Sainsbury’s Surbiton customers can take part in Red Nose Day, which celebrates it’s 25th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations, Sainsbury’s Surbiton colleagues are encouraging local residents to take part in a nationwide search for the UK’s Funniest Face. Participants must pull their funniest face featuring this year’s Red Nose and upload the image to the Sainsbury’s Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/sainsburys. The first prize is a pair of VIP meet and greet tickets to a Jessie J concert, including travel and accommodation and a £500 Sainsbury’s gift card while 10 runner ups will also each win a £50 Sainsbury’s gift card.
Red Nose Day supporter Lara Stone said: “The Funny Face competition is a fantastic way for people in Surbiton to get involved and support Comic Relief by doing something funny for money. Just grab a Red Nose from Sainsbury’s and strike a pose – there’s nothing to it!”
Over the next few weeks, colleagues will be showing their funny side too by organising Red-Nose themed fundraising activities in-store.
Katherine How, Sainsbury’s Comic Relief Partnership Manager, added: “Our customers and colleagues have raised over £63 million for Comic Relief since our partnership began. Supporters in Surbiton have really played their part over the years and with this year’s exciting range of merchandise and competitions available, along with our Sainsbury’s Surbiton colleagues set to ‘Do Something Funny for Money’, we hope everyone can join in the fun over the next few weeks and help make the 25th anniversary of Red Nose Day a memorable one”.
