Traffic delays expected in Surbiton Road while a new water connection is made at the junction with Surbiton Crescent.
The work began on Thursday, March 15, and is expected to last two weeks. During this time the road has been reduced to a single lane and temporary three-way traffic signals have been installed.
Motorists have been advised to find an alternative route via either the Hook Road (A243), Portsmouth Road, Cambridge Road or Kingston Road (A2043).
