Surbiton station's award nomination

Surbiton station

Surbiton station announcers have been nominated for the 'Hans Christian Anderson award for most original excuse.'

An article on the BBC News website has named South West Trains announcers at Surbiton station as candidates for the award after receiving a nomination from local rail user 'Matt'.

Apparently it was announced that the cancellation of the Basingstoke to Surbiton service was due to the driver having to cope with a dead cat welded to his cabin!
