KT6, a 22-strong a cappella group based in Surbiton, invite you for an evening of singing and socialising on Friday, July 20 at 8pm.

‘Black Comedy’ is a One Act comedy by Peter Shaffer, first performed in 1965 by the National Theatre at Chichester.

The Surbiton Festival brings together residents, businesses, community organisations, and a multitude of charities to celebrate the best that the town has to offer.

HMOS will be running its 12th Summer Workshop and show at the cornerHOUSE in August.

The show will be Aladdin Jr.

The workshop, at the Douglas Road arts centre from August 14-19, is for youngsters aged 5½ -18 years old. It will run each day from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with two performances at the end of the week. There will be one on Friday night (18th) and one on Saturday(19th), times to be confirmed. There will also be a rehearsal during the day on the Saturday (time also to be confirmed).

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have this intriguing, thrilling, riotous and unmissable comedy.

The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London music hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies? A cast of four actors plays over 150 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure.

Kingston Junior Drama Company’s Tuesday group will be reviving the first ever production to be staged by KJDC back in 2007 as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.

Paradise is a one act play about a group of Victorian orphans being transported to a new life in America. When their ship is caught in a treacherous storm they find themselves marooned on an island where a series of mysterious findings changes the course of their journey.

North Kingston Choir's Summer Concert is taking place on Saturday 10 June in support of the Kingston Samaritans at the Cornerhouse, Douglas Road in Surbiton.

You can expect a family-friendly concert of modern music with their live band including songs by Billy Joel and Keane to Alicia Keys and Michael Jackson.

Kingston Music Service is pleased to present an evening of live jazz and swing at the cornerHOUSE on Saturday, March 25 at 7.30pm.

The exhibition runs from 5 February to 5 March and features the work of Vicky Oldfield who has exhibited at the RA twice also shown for the past 6 years with The Royal Society of British Artists.

Come and join in with some hearty singing at the cornerHOUSE on Thursday, December 15, as singers from St Matthew’s Church lead the Community Carols.

The masterclass will be led by renowned jazz singer and pianist Liane Carroll, and is aimed at aspiring young jazz and theatre singers.

String players poster 3_1The cornerHOUSE is delighted to be hosting a Strings Workshop on Sunday 30th October, in partnership with Thames Concerts and Kingston Arts. Participants will receive one-to-one coaching from a professional player from the Lejeune String Trio, and perform a piece in a short concert at the end of the afternoon. The Trio will have been performing at St Andrew’s Surbiton on Saturday 15th October as part of the Thames Concert series (see http://www.thamesconcerts.com/)

The Workshop will run from 2-5pm.

The concert will run from 5.15 till 6pm.

A dance class for young people aged 13-18 who want to have fun, dance to their favourite songs and make new friends. Lyrical Dance uses elements of ballet, jazz and contemporary to create a class that is energetic and concentrates on telling a story through dance. If you have no experience or dance a lot this class will still be accessible for you.

Please note that the 26th September, 24th October and 28th November there will be NO CLASSES.

Kingston’s most respected platform for original playwriting is looking for actors of all ages to perform in this year’s showcase of local writing talent. Whether you are an experienced actor or a complete novice, there could be a place for you in one of the oneACTS which will be performed at the cornerHOUSE from Monday, May 9 to Saturday, May 14.

Roger Fowler’s Going Wild, an exhibition of animal images is our January visuals arts choice. Come to the gala at 7.00 on Tuesday 12thto get a chance to chat with Roger about his work. As well as his own choice of animals to depict in pastels and other media, Roger also works to commission, particularly in pet portraiture.

When the future of the teenagers’ favourite coffee bar comes under threat because of the thugs’ activities, it’s time for the community to strike back and attempt to beat the gangsters! The 28th panto in a seemingly interminable series has a new rock n roll soundtrack, but some reassuringly familiar gags.

Our first multi media fund-raising exhibition with 17 local artists all coming together to support the work of Straight Talking, a charity based in Kingston. Straight Talking employs teenage parents to run courses in secondary schools about the realities of early parenthood. This achieves a reduction in teenage pregnancy rates and enables teenage parents to access employment.
