Come and see the fruits of three artists and a photgrapher's endeavours at the gala night of The October Project.
The event at the cornerHOUSE in Douglas Road, Surbiton, on Tuesday, October 9, will showcase paintings, prints, photography and drawings which cover portraits, figurative work, landscapes, collaged images, silkscreen printmaking and prints.

This month-long showcase at The cornerHOUSE celebrates ten years of friendship and artistic endeavour with a richly varied exhibition of portraits, figurative work, landscapes, and collaged images, silkscreen printmaking, and photography.

Su Collins, Lynne Humberstone and Andrea Robinson first met in October 2002 when they attended life classes at Wimbledon School of Art. Su lives in Surbiton and has been involved with The cornerHOUSE for more than ten years – she uses pencil and pastel to interpret the human form.

A 2028 reality TV show sends a renowned advertising executive and his son, Tom, back to the late 20th century.
When the unexpected happens, Tom discovers a huge generational divide.

My Generation is Surbiton playwright Tim Burton's latest play - the sixth he has written and directed, and the fifth which has been performed at the cornerHOUSE in Douglas Road.

A sinister but humorous adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s book The Canterville Ghost is coming to the cornerHOUSE in September.
The play, written by Tim Kelly, is being staged by Upstage Theatre Company who have brought many productions to the arts centre in Douglas Road its most recent being the entertaining Jack the Ripper - Monster of Whitechapel by playwright Joe Dickinson.

Underwater photographer Terry Arpino is staging a stunning exhibition of prints at the cornerHOUSE in September.
The photographs have been taken from around the globe - the Red Sea, Philippines, Thailand, Belize, Jamaica, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Co Co Islands, Maldives, North Africa, Kenya, Malta, Corsica and the British Isles.

The prints, on show at the arts centre in Douglas Road, Surbiton, from September 1-29, are Lenticulars 3D, a form of state-of-the-art printing which takes underwater photography to a new dimension.

The TV reality show The Only Way is Essex meets the Bard in Tanju Duncan's take on William Shakespeare's controversial comedy The Taming of the Shrew at the cornerHOUSE in June.

The highly respected Surbiton director, whose much acclaimed production of Steven Berkoff's play East sets off on a nationwide tour in July, brings her talents to this action-packed Elizabethan romp.

Sarah works in acrylics on canvas, and says of her work: "It is inspired by the fields around my home in France. The paintings convey the continual movement in nature, and that the landscape is never ‘still’ or ‘serene’ just giving an illusion of it.
"Colours, textures vibrate and looking closely at the work, you should feel the vibration.

Actor Lance Pierson tells the story of Betjeman’s life through his funny, moving and always interesting poems. Through Betjeman’s heartbreaks and triumphs he paints a picture of a changing 20th century England. Well known numbers from musical theatre will be entertaining audiences at the cornerHOUSE during a Summer Showcase in June.

Music-lovers will be treated to a selection of melodies from the early years of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Gershwin, to songs from musicals like A Chorus Line, Wicked, Footloose and even Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The voices are supplied by the students of Tolworth vocal coach Keesha Mclean, accompanied by Nic Luker on piano.

Canvasses are on sale in the CornerHouse at £2 each and all submissions will be exhibited.
