Old lap tops for school remote learning needs

I have tried to donate a Samsung Notebook but it was declined as it was only Windows XP and deemed too old for use with current school learning apps,I would have thought the school IT folks could have downloaded a newer windows when they wiped all the old data?

Does anyone know of a good home for such a good and working Notebook?

Beaconsfield Road

Looking to move to Surbiton from Central London.

Houses on Beaconsfield Road constantly come up for sale. At any point there is always at least a couple and at the moment three. Why is that so? Is there anything wrong with that road?

Thanks

Kingston University Development Plans

Kingston University is planning to expand further in Surbiton as well as Kingston Hill. This involves accommodation and other facilities to be developed and managed by a large energy and facilities management company.

Has there been anything in the local press or local discussion online about this?

Helicopter over Surbiton

Does anyone know why a helicopter keeps hovering over Long Ditton / Surbiton most evenings for the last few nights? It was nearby at 1.30 a.m. this morning. Is it just an exercise ?

Gulls along the river

My walk along the river was interrupted this week by hoards of gulls taking all the food from the swans and ducks. I have never seen these gulls before, they seem quite spiteful, much as I love all animals, and are taking away the joy of my grandchildren feeding other wildlife. How long have they been along Kingston Riverside? I also saw three of them trying to peck a cormorant as he came up from feeding underwater although he managed to get away.
