Idle chit chat about Surbiton

Hair Colourist Please

Had a really good haircut in the little Mall in Kingston between Boots back door and the Market. I think its about the only shop still open in there! It's opposite where Jordan opened that scary looking pink and leopard skin hairdressers on the outside corner. Sorry can't remember the name, its one of those quick cut places. A dry cut (female) for £7! So now I need somewhere for a really good colour, don't mind paying the going rate. Anywhere in Surbiton please, nice and friendly shop and quite trendy would be preferable.

Police crime figures - really high in Surbiton!

Has anyone seen the recently released crime maps on police.uk?

The Surbiton numbers seem very high - 277 crimes in December. This is almost exactly the same as the levels of crime in Richmond and Twickenham which are both much larger towns and one of them has regular events at an 80,000 capacity stadium to police.

Kingston is off the scale due to the nightclub situation.

How long before a car crashes down from Lambert' Road to the railway line?

I see that yet again the fence on the bend where Villiers Avenue ends and Lambert's Road starts has been damaged - I guess from someone going too fast and losing control, going up the kerb and hitting the fence. I wonder how long it'll be before someone does it a little faster or in a heavier vehicle and ends up on the railwayt tracks in the path of a train? It'll happen, we just don't know when. Wouldn't you think that the rail and highway authorities would have learned from the Oxshott crash?

CAR PARK AND METER SIGNAGE

Has anyone else noticed how many signs are now so complicated that it is almost impossible to figure out when you can park?

Recently in Villiers Road I put money in a machine only for it to say "parking aborted" but held onto my money,a passing warden muttered that you cannot park unless it says you may,Kafkaesque or what?

Water leaks

Hello! For anyone spotting water leaks, an easy way to report them is to Tweet Thames Water! http://twitter.com/#!/thameswater

I tweeted one on the Ewell Road one evening on my way to Suburbiton station and when I came back at around midnight that night, a Thames Water engineer was dealing with it!! Top stuff :)

Just need to find out how to fault gas leaks and pot holes efficiently now!

Hair today and gone tomorrow - Tolworth shopping experience

The other day, my brother and I decided to count how many hairdressers and barbers can be found on Tolworth Broadway. Between the Roundabout at one end and Budgens at the other, we made Roop the tenth 'hair' business to be opening up. Do the people of Tolworth have particularly fast growing locks?

Looking for day time midweek dog care

Hi all,
Myself and my Fiance would love to own a dog but we're out of the house Mon-Fri between the hours of 8am-6pm and so we don't own one because it's not fair to leave it alone most of the day.

We're looking for someone who would like to look after a dog during the day Mon-Fri - perhaps someone who is retired or works from home or requires companionship but does not want to commit to owning a dog full-time. We would look to drop the dog off and collect it locally to Surbiton.

It wouldn't be a financial arrangement, just somebody else who would love a dog as much as we would.
