Eastenders real-life husband jailed for Surbiton armed robbery

Mark Foley (46), of Chessington was given a life sentence at the Old Bailey after being found guilty of a violent robbery of the Victoria Road Unwins in April 2005. His wife, Eastenders actor Gerry Cowper has since filed for divorce. Ms. Cowper who plays Rosie, wife of slob husband Keith Miller (played by Surbiton actor David Spinx) has recently been written out of the TV soap and will make her last appearance sometime this summer.

10K reward for Surbiton acid vandal

The police offer reward after more attacks from malicious mystery man.

A Geneva Road resident has apparently witnessed what seems to be a drive-by attack after noticing odd behaviour from a middle-aged man spraying liquid while leaning out of his large, grey or green car. This sighting coincided with ten acid attacks on cars in Geneva Road, Lingfield Road and Alfred Road.

Police are offering a £10,000 reward and are asking for anyone with any information to call 0208 5411212 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.

Hart's Boatyard houseboat residents to be evicted

County courts decide that the boatyard can legally evict tenants.

Judge Jenny Sally Williams regretfully agreed that the law needs changing to protect houseboat owners, but she had no choice but to allow the eviction.

Hart's Boatyard owner Ossie Stewart, 61, intends to evict the tenants, who formed the Friends of Boating Residents' Association FOBRA, and claim unpaid mooring fees which could total £70,000.

Mugging victim calls for better lighting in Victoria Park

Nighttime assault results in labrador death.

The mugging that took place on March 1st at around nine in the evening left Jonathan Greensted, 36 with a second tradegy. The pet labrador dog he was walking escaped into the road and was run over.

He's now calling for extra lighting to be installed in park in order to deter opportunist muggers, and has set up an online petition web site. Mr Greensted says, "I would like people living in the area to sign the online petition for lighting and CCTV in the park."

Driver fined for keeping out of the way

A King Charles Road resident is ticketed for helping emergency services.

Gerry England said he's been woken several times during the night to move his van for emergency vehicles, so thought it reasonable to park up on the kerb to make space. Kingston Council thought differently and has fined him nine tickets since January.

Surbiton drugs dealer gets nearly four years in prison.

22 year-old Oladapo Lateef was arrested by a special police task force as part of Operation Vetha and sentenced at Kingston Crown Court in February.

Police at Heathrow airport arrest man for local burglaries

29 year-old homeless man Winston Phillip was stopped and charged this week in relation to a series of break-ins around Surbiton and Kingston. Police at Heathrow were on the lookout for Phillip as was he known to frequent the airport.

Berrylands cars vandalised with paint stripper

An estimated £100,000 of damage done in Alexander Drive, Westfield Road, Linford Avenue and Dawson Road.

Police are asking for any information regarding the crime which occured over several days last week. Victims include local Conservative councillor Kevin Davis who's car will cost over £2,000 to repair.
