Victoria Road locals accuse YMCA residents of dumping rubbish over wall.

The YMCA comes under fire again from local residents, this time over rubbish. Eileen Price says, "We pay our council tax and the whole area around here is filthy. I think this is a dirty, filthy disgrace."

Surbiton Station in top ten crime report

A London Assembly transport committee rates station as 7th worst in Greater London.

The report listed the highest crime levels for 20 London stations outside Zone 1 ranking Surbiton Station as the seventh highest with 166 reported crimes, covering mugging, robberies, sexual assaults, vandalism and graffiti.

However, a SWT spokesman said the figures needed to be put into context, stating that the station handles over five and half million passengers a year and contradicts the Rail Station of the Year Award announced for 2005.

Burglar hides under duvet

Police find man under cover after house search.

A Surbiton Hill Park resident called the police when she realised her home was being burgled. She became aware of the daytime break-in whilst working upstairs and immediately contacted the Police. After searching all the rooms would-be burglar, Michael Brazil from West Ewell was discovered hiding under a duvet.

Surbiton High hush up schoolgirl's prosecution behind parents' back

The school helped the girl after she asked to keep it secret.

The private school claim the so-called Gillick Judgement and data-protection laws gave them the power to grant her confidentiality from her parents.

The girl pleaded guilty to theft after being caught travelling with a photocopied travel pass, but her parents were unaware of the conviction until a bailiffs letter was received.

The mother said, "Our daughter went to court without a solicitor to plead her case and she now has a criminal record which she will have to declare for five years and for the rest of her life if she wants to work in a wide range of jobs and professions."

Helicopter tracks sat nav nabbers

A spate of car break-ins in Berrylands prompts a call to the copper chopper.

A police helicopter was scrambled during the early hours of Tuesday after a suspicious car was seen patrolling Berrylands. Police have been on the look out for a gang of thieves targeting cars in the Surbiton Hill and Berrylands area after a spate of break-ins.

Twelve cars have been broken into as the thieves appear to be targeting satellite navigation systems. Police say to be cautious of anyone selling such equipment second-hand, and to be extra careful if you own such items.

Chemist ram-raider does a runner

Sutton man arrested for robbing the Tolworth branch of Boots has failed to appear at his hearing.

Dean Robert Peerless, 36, of Gander Green Lane, Sutton was arrested four days after the raid but do not attend his December hearing at Kingston Crown Court.

Woman attacked by gang in Victoria Road

A group of ten repeatedly punched and kicked the 45-year old after leaving the Saucy Kettle pub.

Police believe they will find the assailants using CCTV footage they have. Detective Sergeant Simon Harding of the Metropolitan Police is calling for witnesses to help identify the group of youths, aged between 15 and 17 and said to be both black and white.

Male nurse faces being struck off for making indecent images of children

A 45 year-old nurse from Surbiton in Surrey will come before the Nursing and Midwifery council to face charges of misconduct.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) will hear evidence and if found guilty (of misconduct), registered adult nurse Paul Jackson Duncan will be struck off the register and stopped from working as a nurses.

The PCC will hear that on July 22 2004, Duncan came before Horseferrys Magistrates Court charged making a total of fifteen indecent images of children under the age of sixteen. Duncan was also charged with possession of a total of 71 indecent images of children. For these offenses Duncan was convicted of these offensives and sentenced to six months imprisonment to run concurrently and required to sign the sex offender's register for a total of seven years.

Wake up - I think I hear a burglar!

Thieves drive off with swag in sleeping couple's prized Merc.

The burglars entered the house through the back door and ransacked the ground floor, stealing mobile phones, camcorder and jewellery before spotting the car keys and heading off into the night in the owner's silver Mercedes C180.

The incident happened between 12:00am and 8:00pm on Saturday while the couple slept upstairs in their home in Endway, Berrylands. A similar break-in happened on the same night further along the street.

Police are asking for any information regarding this on 020 8247 4945. The stolen car's registration is KM54 PBX.

Heavies put the pressure on retired couple

Tax collectors send the boys round to wrong Ewell Road.

Two debt collectors made a heavy handed morning call to a retired couples' home. The JBW Enforcement bailiffs demanded unpaid council tax payments, insisting they see a occupant unknown to Mr and Mrs De Domingo.

Arriving at their doorstep at 7 o' clock in the morning, the bailifs refused to believe Santiago De Domingo who answered his doorbell in his pyjamas, keeping him at his door for nearly an hour. During the insident one of the bailiffs broke a window pane on Mr De Domingo's door as he attempted to close it on them.

Eventually the police were called to the house, where it transpired that the bailiffs should have been at the Ewell Road in Long Ditton.
