A3 crash causes Tolworth gridlock

Police were diverting traffic through Tolworth and Hook after the dual carriageway was closed North and southbound. Fire crews were quickly at the scene of a lorry crash, which is believed to have happened shortly before 5.20pm just before the start of the evening rush hour.

Surbiton actor guilty of sexual assault

Actor John Jaynes left Kingston Crown Court a free man on Monday despite pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl with whom he once had a long-term relationship.

According to defence counsel Ian Lawrie, Jaynes was only charged with the offence after the victim visited a psychiatrist last year and was encouraged to speak to the police.

Jaynes, from Oakwood Road, is on the books of a central London casting agency under the name "Matt Jaynes" and appeared in the hit British movie Shaun of the Dead alongside top actor Simon Pegg.

MeWe presents Equiano's Cup

Acclaimed multi-racial youth company MeWe present a workshop performance of their new play focusing attention on issues surrounding the abolition of the Transatlantic slave trade 200 years ago. Olaudah Equiano (c1745-1797), was a former slave, writer and campaigner. The play links both historic and contemporary action and highlights the impact of the legacy of slavery on young people today.

Ethical Consumerism: Fig Leaf Or Feasible

This memoir writing workshop is designed to help and record your memoir; provide ideas on how you might theme or order your memoir and give tips on where to start and where to look for your past.

During the workshop participants will also look at memoirs as a genre and review two recent bestselling memoirs - Toast by Nigel Slater and Days From A Different World by John Simpson.
