A Mercedes driver came a cropper after crashing into a tree this morning. The car hit the tree in Oak Hill Road, Surbiton, at about 11am this morning, on what has been the wettest day of the year so far. A London Ambulance spokesman said they were called to the scene just before midday and sent one crew, who treated a man, believed to be in his 50s.
