The Berrylands Road pharmacy was held up by a hooded man demanding a list of heroin addict prescription drugs.

The 60-year-old woman pharmacist's assistant had a bread knife held to her throat after the robber forced his way into the dispensary.

Duncan Rusk was discovered to have been part of a international paedophile ring exchanging images via the internet. He was jailed for three years at Southwark Crown Court.

Still no filter bed plans

Thames Water are still undecided over how to develop the filter beds site by The Thames on Portsmouth Road.

Though they intend to continue talks with residents, they have yet to make any decision as to what to do with the land.

Last year, after many years of local opposition, government officials rejected Thames Water's plans to build houses on the site.

There's no smoke...

Two fire evacuations caused concern for thousands of Surbitonites last Sunday; Waitrose and Hillcroft College.

A faulty freezer in Waitrose initiated the first evacutation after is started smoking unexpectedly. The problem was quickly tackled with an extinguisher while the fire brigade were on their way.

The second, more disturbing incident happened during the night at Hillcroft college. Concidered an arson attack, a trolly full of burning papers was deliberately pushed into the entrance of the residential college and 20 residents were evacuated after the blaze triggered an alarm. Could this be the return of the Tolworth Torch?

Murder at the station?

Surbiton station was cordoned off on Saturday afternoon and the London Air Ambulance was flown in to deal with what the police described as a 'serious assult'. Bystanders say it was murder.

Update:

Reports confirm that the victim had seriously head injuries though is in a stable condition at St Georges Hospital.

Two individuals were arrested for causing grievious bodily harm and the station forecourt was reopened to public at 8.00pm. Steven Penny, at 30 year old Tolworth resident was due to appear at Kingston Crown Court having been charged in relation to the assault.

Surbiton swordsman brought down by Taser

A Samurai sword weilding maniac is knocked out by electric stun gun. We're not making this up.

Police were called to Langley Avenue on Saturday after receiving reports of a man running amock with a sword. After attempting to negotiate with him, the man climbed a roof and started to throw missiles.

Eventually after continued talks the man returned to the ground, but members of the Met Police firearms squad decided the only way to disarm him was to jolt him with 50,000 volts from an electronic Taser gun. He was then taken away and detained for questioning.

Terror of the Tolworth Torcher

Police are concerned that a recent arson attack in Surbiton may indicate the return of a notorious arsonist to the area.

After a three year hiatus, police fear a continuation of a sting of fires which cause hundreds of thousands of worth pounds of damage and injured six people.

The attack on offices on Hook Rise South was thought to have been started deliberately in a rubbish bin put close to the building. The first and second floors are said to have had damaged inflicted to the tune of half a million pounds.
