Took my son to the Rose Theatre for the first time this week. What a disappointing experience.

Not the production that is. Othello which was really enjoyable, but the actual ambience of the theatre.

Going into the cafe area which was advertised as being a community space with homemade cakes and locally sourced produce, all we found were a few chairs and stools to sit on line against a wall with no tables at which to sit. When the space filled up with theatre goers before the performance, it was so loud any conversation was impossible.

Just wondering if anyone has been to the Black Lion for food yet! i know it as a lively local little pub (used to be a bit grim in an endeering way before the smoking ban's refurbishment!) and it was infamously the only pub in surbiton that DIDN'T do food for YEARS - but they're advertising food and sunday lunches and i had sunday lunch last sunday and it was BRILLIANT - enormous plate of good, home-cooked food, nothing looked like it came out of a packet, and it was delicious.

Anyone know of a decent quiz night at a 'nice' pub around the Surbiton/Berrylands area?

Everytime we visit The Agra Tandoori we have really bad stomach cramps, diarrhoea etc. But we still go back!

But after visiting on Friday I had the full works - really, really bad food poisoning which kept me in bed/on the toilet all the way through to Sunday morning.

Needless to say, we won't be going back and I've reported them to Environmental Health (not sure if they'll do anything) but I wondered - has anyone else been there and had problems?
