'Your Surbiton' a new community magazine handbook

Hi, my name is Gavin and I am launching a new local magazine called 'Your Surbiton'. It's designed as a handy A5 handbook/directory and is primarily a VERY cost effective way for small businesses to advertise their products and services to the local community.(Only £23 for a quarter page display ad!)
As well as local ads with an index of advertisers, it will also list useful telephone numbers and I'm hoping a 'Your Community' spread. This will be a FREE page where local charities, clubs, groups etc can promote any social activities, fund raising events etc., so if you have anything you want to let Surbiton know about that's happening in December, please contact me ASAP.

Bourough Medal

Greetings all,

Does anyone have one of those medals (Blue Ribbon Dark medal, 'chocolate colour') when Surbiton was made a borough? I still have mine circa 1935?

Best wishes to anyone ex Tolworth Central School

Footbridge over the River Thames to Hampton Court Park.

A couple of weeks ago, I was cycling back along the river from Hampton Court to Kingston, and it struck me that Hampton Court park is a pleasant and underused resource, geographically close to Surbiton but a pain to get to.

I think it would be a good idea to build a footbridge at Raven's Ait to allow access to the other side of the river.

What do you think?

Water Pressure in KT6

I installed a Triton Opal Electric Shower over a year ago and the water pressure was then OK.

Water board have recently reduced the pressure in the Surbiton area in an effort to save water.

The Low Pressure light on the shower unit is now almost constantly on rendering the shower useless

Alas, I'm now forced to fill the bath up instead (doh!)

Parking in Surbiton

I am in full agreement with residents parking.....but it seems our council has gone mad!!!

Every free parking space in the Brighton Road area has turned into Residents Parking or Pay and Display.

How much did all this cost? How long will it take to recoup the investment? Is this why I pay so much Council Tax?

If it is the case that a profit is made on all these new machines maybe this could be passed back to the Council tax Payer in the form of a free Permit!

If its the case that they are making a loss then why has it been done?

I have asked the council for answers to these que

Fox hunting in Surbiton!

The fox population in surbiton seems to be rising to epidemic proportions, last night my angora rabbit "Lilly" was attacked by a fox, luckily she survived the experience but is still in shock and under medication. The fox far from being shy was unafraid even when i resorted to throwing potatoes at it!
It was not the sleek beautiful animal as purpoted by tree huggers but instead a mangy flee and disease ridden creature.
My partner before moving to surbiton from devon and prior to the recent ban was an avid fox hunter and assues me that if such an activity were to take place in Surbiton with no more than two hounds it would be perfectly legal.
