New deli

I was just driving down Brighton Road and I noticed that a new deli has taken over the former 'art gallery' next to Mitch. Just wondered if anyone has tried it yet. Could be just what Surbiton needs...

County Hall filming

I pass County Hall in Kingston on my way to work every day.
Every couple of weeks, there is a film crew in the front car park (lighting crew, catering etc)
I have also spotted a vintage car there as well.

Can anyone shed any light on what they film there so regularly?
A costume drama perhaps?

And I sincerely hope that the funds received are plowed back into the council coffers.

'green cross code' woman!

Has anyone else seen the Afro-Caribbean lady who ignores the traffic in Surbiton
by walking along the middle of the road etc. etc., whilst vehicles try to swerve around her?
It is entertaining stuff at times, so keep you eyes peeled!

Very slow BT Broadband

I am in Berrylands. I am posting to say that BT Broadband is extremely slow in this area because the local exchange is only capable of 1 MB capacity - and you can only expect receive up to about half of that. This is contrary to BT advertising that one can expect up to 20MB.

I am cancelling my BT broadband because of this. Just letting people know!

Photo: Mural at Surbiton Station

I had a vague recollection of a mural being at Surbiton Station. I thought it was on the wall in the booking hall above what is now the entrance to Oddbins. Anyway, I looked around the internet and couldn't find anything relating to that wall, but I did find a photo of a mural by Graeme Willson, called 'Passengers' on the opposite wall. It was painted 1984-85. Thought people might like to have a look:

Parking in Surbiton for residents

Hi,

I am moving to surbiton in december and would like to know what the parking arrangements for residents are.

How much is a permit?
Where does it permit you to park in surbiton?
(The place we are moving to has double yellow lines out the front so will need to park 'nearby' - also have friends at the other end of surbition so it would be useful to know if we can drive to see them and the parking permit will still count if)

Any other nugguts of info you feel are useful with regards to parking?
- Parking damage danger spots etc.

Thanks,

Steve

Berrylands house original door ironmongery - any spare?

I'm decorating my house and most of my original door handles & locks don't work. If anyone knows where I can get replacement ones or can recommend somewhere to buy replacement springs please let me know. If it helps our house is down the far end of Surbiton Hill Park.

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for a good and reasonably-priced butcher and fishmonger in/around the Surbiton/Tolworth/Ditton area.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
