Idle chit chat about Surbiton

Villiers Road Recycling Center/ Tip

If you are power crazed jobsworth and feel being a traffic warden just does not give you enough control then get a job at the dump off Villiers road.
I went today and it was insane. I'm all for recycling by these guys take the biscuit. They went through every bag with a fine tooth comb and had me routing around through bags of sawdust for the occasional piece of cardboard or scrap of wood.

Hello,

Rather than be ripped off by Coopers, just wondering if anyone can recommend a good mechanic in Surbiton. Particulary for BMW.

THANKS

New make your own jewellery group

I am in the process of setting up a new make your own jewellery group in Surbiton in the Berrylands area, the group will meet one morning and one evening a week and we aim to cover topics that will include silver jewellery making, beading, stringing, wirework and possible metal clay. The aim is to attract beginners and those with more advanced abilities, as we would like a caring, sharing group.

New restaurant - your opinion required

I am representing a local restaurateur who is seeking to determine opinion on what (if anything) might be missing from the high street in Surbiton by way of a restaurant concept. The individual is fiercely independent (ie not part of a chain) and has had representation in Surbiton high street with a restaurant in the past.

The potential location would be very near to the station, so would be aimed at commuters passing through on their way home / way to work as well as for a meal out with friends / family in the evenings or at weekends.

Home Buyer in Berrylands

We are looking to move to the area and are interested in a property on Surbiton Hill Park that is approx. 5 mins walk to Berrylands Station near the sewage works. We have heard such mixed reviews re the smell............is it really that bad and does it effect the resell price of the house when sold??? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

Firewood Logs in Surbiton

If you burn wood in Surbiton, who is your firewood supplier?

Buying from petrol station forecourts, garden centres, DIY outlets and fireplace shops is the expensive way of doing it, so I prefer to have a load delivered in bulk bags or on a tipper.

I have used Easylogs.co.uk in the past which I believe come from Dorking and are well-seasoned but competition and choice is good so I've recently found Simon Levy in Coombe Forestry (based out of Richmond Park) and am awaiting his first delivery next week - I'd be intruiged to know who you use.

LOST CAT - SURBITON / TOLWORTH

Hi All

We are desperately looking for a lost cat and hope in posting this that someone may have seen him.

Lost: Male cat - very fluffy, long hair black and white with very hairy ears and a distinctive black mark under his nose. He is neutered and chipped but has no collar. He has been missing for over a month and is only a year old. His name is Bouf, he is very friendly and he is sorely missed.

St Mark's Church construction work

Can anyone shed any light on the building work happening in the grounds of St Mark's Church? We assumed it was something to do with vehicular access to the church, or maybe a car park extension, but today I see a fence has gone up. Another block of flats perchance?
