Teenage heroin dealer arrested

Richmond Legemah, 17, from east London, was found with 48 packages of crack cocaine and 16 packages of heroin after an operation involving police and residents of Victoria Avenue where the dealing took place.

Surbiton actor guilty of sexual assault

Actor John Jaynes left Kingston Crown Court a free man on Monday despite pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl with whom he once had a long-term relationship.

According to defence counsel Ian Lawrie, Jaynes was only charged with the offence after the victim visited a psychiatrist last year and was encouraged to speak to the police.

Jaynes, from Oakwood Road, is on the books of a central London casting agency under the name "Matt Jaynes" and appeared in the hit British movie Shaun of the Dead alongside top actor Simon Pegg.

Met police publish Subiton crime figures

According to statistics released this month the Surbiton Hill area saw 200% increase in 'Other Notable Offences', which apparently are "a range of offences about which the Home Office have to be notified that do not fit into the other categories. These include offences of Dangerous Driving, Blackmail and Kidnapping."

Similarly 'Sexual Offences' in Alexandria were down by 57% compared to the previous year. This relates to 0.3 offences per thousand population compared to 0.8 in 2005.

Cat burglar on the prowl

Police have warned residents to lock up securely after two night-time burglaries in the Woodlands Road area.

On the night of Wednesday August 16th, a burglar successfully enter a Woodlands Road home while the occupier slept upstairs and stole several items of electronic equipment. The same night further along the road an attempted break-in was foiled by a security door and alarm. Also on the 16th a Corkran Road resident returned from holiday to discover jewellery missing from their home.

Police are investigating forensic evidence and CCTV footage.
