Murder at the station?

Surbiton station was cordoned off on Saturday afternoon and the London Air Ambulance was flown in to deal with what the police described as a 'serious assult'. Bystanders say it was murder.

Update:

Reports confirm that the victim had seriously head injuries though is in a stable condition at St Georges Hospital.

Two individuals were arrested for causing grievious bodily harm and the station forecourt was reopened to public at 8.00pm. Steven Penny, at 30 year old Tolworth resident was due to appear at Kingston Crown Court having been charged in relation to the assault.

Surbiton swordsman brought down by Taser

A Samurai sword weilding maniac is knocked out by electric stun gun. We're not making this up.

Police were called to Langley Avenue on Saturday after receiving reports of a man running amock with a sword. After attempting to negotiate with him, the man climbed a roof and started to throw missiles.

Eventually after continued talks the man returned to the ground, but members of the Met Police firearms squad decided the only way to disarm him was to jolt him with 50,000 volts from an electronic Taser gun. He was then taken away and detained for questioning.

Terror of the Tolworth Torcher

Police are concerned that a recent arson attack in Surbiton may indicate the return of a notorious arsonist to the area.

After a three year hiatus, police fear a continuation of a sting of fires which cause hundreds of thousands of worth pounds of damage and injured six people.

The attack on offices on Hook Rise South was thought to have been started deliberately in a rubbish bin put close to the building. The first and second floors are said to have had damaged inflicted to the tune of half a million pounds.

Sainsbury's car park rapist goes to prison

Clinton Williams is found guilty of rape and intimidating his victim. He will be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on June 11th.

After being on the run for over a year, William has finally been found guilty of raping a 16 year old girl on the top story of the Surbiton car park.

Father of two, Williams denied rape though told the police when interviewed that 'no one's ever been that much bother'. He was taken to Wandsworth Prison where he will start his six-year sentence.

Surbiton is a 'huge carbuncle'

Ian Malcolm, secretary of Aberlady Conservation Society recently inferred that Surbiton is comparable to a barracks and is a 'huge carbuncle'.

In a Scottish TV interview discussing a proposed development of homes in Aberlady, East Lothian, he said that 'Aberlady now has a huge carbuncle - nearly a hundred new houses styled on Surbiton, or a barracks.'

It is unknown whether he has ever visited Surbiton.

Sorting office development gets go-ahead

Having reduced the height by three stories, the Terence Conran design has finally been approved by councillors. Construction is expected to start early next year.

After making a major re-design which reduced the building from nine floors to six, CNM Estates Ltd have had their plans approved. The building will contain 65 flats as well as offices and potential shops, restaurants and bars.

Initial opposition to the plans have been quelled somewhat after re-working the designs to reduce the height, make the outside more fitting with the surroundings and re-thinking the building's waste management.

Surbiton man murdered for stepping on foot

Vipaul Prasanna was commuting to Brixton via Wembly Park when the attack occured. He was accused of stepping on his killer's son's foot and was hit in the face when he tried to appologise. He died later in hospital from his injuries.

Police are on the lookout for a man and his son - described as black, in his twenties and of powerful build, wearing a white long-sleeved top with dark trousers and a dark-coloured baseball cap. His son, who is about 10, was wearing a camouflage cap with his hair sticking out at the back.

Selfish residents association repel drivers

Local councillor Barry O'Mahoney has accused Southborough residents of being selfish towards their neighbours by forcing through parking restrictions.

The Liberal Democrat councillor thinks that the residents' scheme was forced through the system and is unnecessary. The resitrictions will make visitors and residents of neighbouring streets fight for parking in an area that already suffers from thousands of commuters.

Hit and run into the river

Police are gravely concerned over the whereabouts of a man who jumped into the Thames at Surbiton after a crashing his car. No one has heard from Paul Cousins since March 20 when the incident happened. Police fear he may have drowned.

After crashing his silver Vauxhall Vectra and being chased by several of the occupants of the affected cars, he jumped into the river and hasn't been seen since.

Police are appealing for anyone who has not come forward already to contact them at Esher Police Station on 0845 125 2222.
