Im a guitarist -about intermediate -not gigging - of 60 age wise -
Would like to meet and play music with similar musicians and a possible rehearsal venue or place

Can learn quickly new songs - can play blues, some rock, stones, beatles, eagles,and more, not into punk or metal though. like harmonies but not a singer -( yet)

Further to a previous forum post. My partner just opened the door (St Marys Road area, Long Ditton) to one of these so called artists who display their work on your doorstep. Don't be fooled, the stuff is painted somewhere like China and imported, that's how these guys make their profit. If you like it fine, but don't believe them when they say they painted the work themselves. They might knock on your door any time soon ! And while I'm at it, why do they come round at night when it's dark??

Firstly can I say how genuinely nice it is to have a bunch of people regularly post in this forum, it already makes think Surbiton must have a great community feel to it (online or otherwise).

I was hoping for some advice.

Has anyone else had the pleasure of being served by the charisma-bypass butcher in Waitrose Surbiton? My husband asked him to score the rind around the edge of a pork chop. Apparently, being a butcher, you would think he knew what my husband meant but he was greeted with the usual blank stare. So he wrapped up the pork chop and then out of curiousity my husband asked 'Why couldn't you score it?'. The reply was 'Once the meat has been cut, I can't hold it'. You couldn't make it up.

Is it just me or is Surbition looking very unchristmasy this year. I understand that we are in a recession but it can't be doing much for christmas trade and spirit.

Anyone happen to know where one might pick up a tree this year? A real one of course - can't beat the smell of a real pine tree at Christmas...

Does anyone know what the covered stalls and yellow-jacketed people were doing at the corner of the station opposite Wetherspoons? I had a lift home and had to hurry to the car, it looked like a Fete, but surely not in the dark late afternoon on a Thursday ? Was it a Protest?
