Does anyone know when the Surbiton Hotel is opening on St Mark's Hill and if the lounge will be made available to locals for drinking or just residents?

How are you all celebrating St George's Day? It woud be nice to hear how other residents plan to spend this special day. With friends, family? Lets hear it.
I am interested to find out what people on this forum think is really necessary to improve Surbiton. I would especially like to hear from the more negative contributors!
For my part, I have lived here for many years, and really like the place. The only places that I would prefer to live in are the nice enclaves closer to London, and they are too expensive. The improvements that I would like to see are the same ones that come up fairly often on this forum:
1. Someone to take control of the begging situation outside the station.

My wife Sarah and I, Matthew are going to be pounding the streets of London in a few weeks time for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign
We are ordinary people hoping to raise an extroardinary amount to help this amazing charity in their support of the 30,000 babies, children and adults affected by this often life threatening condition, many who never get to reach adulthood.
Can anybody recommend a company in Surbiton (or nearby) who are specialists in restoring or replacing sash windows?
from Ewell road in the 1960's? I am conducting some research into the owner of the company a Mr Frank Woods and need any further information please.
Has anyone got any further news on this:

It's a pdf on the plans for the redevelopment of the old Red Lion pub in Tolworth.
Looks like it's the same firm that built the new flats opposite Surbiton station.
A mix of shops and 69 flats with commercial premises also (including keeping the pub)
Did anyone go to the open day back in November?
Apparently there are plans for a hotel near Tolworth roundabout too.
Can anyone recommend a double glazing company to fit windows and doors to our home?
thanks!
Hi
I am returning to Surbiton after many years. 2007 saw the publication of my 5th book, Mr. Light, (blujah books) set in Surbiton and surrounding areas. The fable charts a man's search for his WWI hero grandfather. I drew from the topography of the locality, with refs to that wonderful 1930s station and the endlessly changing face of the glorious river, which swims through the ever changing fortunes of London. A kind of fluid Orient Express.
How about a 'sticky' thread on here or somewhere else on the site for recommended local tradesmen/services and the like, with good and not so good reviews?
Could be a good resource for all concerned.
